Uzbek restaurant and halal grill in Warsaw

One of the best restaurants in Europe, where the soul of Uzbekistan meets the warmth of Warsaw

Our story

Uzbek hospitality in the heart of Warsaw

In Uzbek, a guzar is a meeting place — the square where a whole neighbourhood comes together. Guzar Garden brings that habit to Warsaw: a big dining room, a garden by Skaryszewski Park, a fireplace for colder evenings, and tables you settle into for hours.

We cook the traditional Uzbek way, with time and care: plov simmers in a heavy kazan, samsa bakes on the tandoor wall, lagman noodles are pulled by hand, and the meat — all halal — goes straight over charcoal. Tea arrives in a pot, because a meal begins and ends with tea.

Uzbek cuisine

What Uzbek cooking is

Uzbekistan sits at the crossroads of the Silk Road, and its cooking is a crossroads too. Persian patience, Turkic fire, Chinese hand-pulled dough, and a steppe that taught people to cook with few ingredients but plenty of time. You eat slowly, from one shared table, and never alone.

Plov simmering in the cast-iron kazan

Kazan

The cast-iron cauldron

A heavy pot where everything happens slowly: rice drinks up the fat and the spice, meat softens for hours. Nothing here is rushed.

Samsa baking on the clay tandoor wall

Tandoor

The clay oven

Searing clay walls that dough is pressed onto. Bread and samsa come out crisp outside and soft within.

Skewers over charcoal fire

Fire

Charcoal skewers

Meat marinated in onion and cumin, held right over the coals and turned by hand. A simple gesture you cannot hurry.

The shared table set with dishes

Dastarkhan

The shared table

Tea first, then bread broken by hand, and the dishes set in the middle — for everyone at once. The guest is seated where the whole table is in view.

“You don’t ask a guest whether they’re hungry. You put food on the table.”
